1. Enroll in Intro to Discover and Foundation courses
Complete the following

Introduction to Discover
Duration: 90 minutes
In this course, you will learn how to navigate through the Discover application with a focus on setting up the landing page to quickly monitor business performance.
RMS Report Builder 1: Foundations
Duration: 2 hours
In this course, you will gain a full foundational understanding of the capabilities of Discover’s Build a Report using RMS data, including efficient ways to select data and set up your layout/formatting. You will also learn how to add multiple cards, add tabs, and create basic charts.
Panel in Discover 1: Foundations
Duration: 2 hours
In this course, you will learn how to create basic consumer behavior reports to understand buying trends and purchase dynamics in Discover’s Build a Report and Choose a Template using Homescan (CPS) data powered by Panel On-Demand.
Discover Business Drivers
Duration: 2 hours
In this course, you will gain a foundational understanding of the analytical methodology and functionality of Discover’s Business Drivers templates using Retail Measurement (RMS). The class will use an instructor-led case study to help you learn how to apply the methodology for on-the-spot analysis.
Additional Courses
Pre-requisites: These virtual trainings are intended for associates who have already completed Intro to Discover, RMS Report Builder 1: Foundations, and Panel in Discover 1: Foundations.
Report Builder 2: Creating Custom Selections
Duration: 2 hours
In this course, you will learn how to make efficient and relevant selections for each data dimension with a focus on leveraging share facts, sums, and product characteristics that reflect your view of data using Retail Measurement (RMS) data.
Report Builder 3: Building Charts
Duration: 90 minutes
In this course, you will learn how to effectively create and manipulate key chart visualizations using Retail Measurement (RMS) data.
Discover Add-in for Excel
Duration: 90 minutes
In this course, you will learn the features, benefits, and functionality of the Discover Add-in for Excel, including how to effectively select NIQ data, set a layout, and create data ranges optimized for Excel. You will also learn how to manage ranges by copying, editing, and linking to manipulate and refresh data within Excel effectively.
Using POS Templates
Duration: 90 minutes
In this course, you will learn about the different Retail Measurement (RMS) templates available in Discover and how you can use them in analysis.
Panel in Discover 2: People, Shifting, Leakage, HML
Duration: 2 hours
In this course, you will learn how to use the People dimension in Build a Report to analyze various buyer and/or shopper groups, as well as how to use and interpret templates which allow us to analyze shifting, leakage, and heavy/medium/light buyers.

Preparation
To pass the certification requirement, you will need to achieve a passing score of 80% (12/15) or higher. But don’t worry, we’re here to support your success!
Online assessment
You have now participated in live training, gone through self-guided learning, and practiced creating your own reports in NIQ Discover.
The final step in your NIQ Certification journey is to demonstrate your proficiency with using NIQ Discover by completing the following online assessment.
Duration: ~ 20 min, unlimited time and can take as many times as needed!

5. You’re NIQ Certified!
Confirm you’ve met all requirements:
Ensure that you’ve met all steps outlined in the NIQ Certification Requirements document you reviewed before. Your completion of the certification modules is captured by us and will be confirmed by a Certification Administrator.
Once your successful completion of all certification requirements has been confirmed:
- Please email kelly.gora@nielseniq.com to confirm program and quiz completion.
- Once verified, you will receive your Certificate of achievement via email.
- Your name will be added to the official list of associates who are #NIQCertified
- We would appreciate your feedback (below) on your experience with the certification program!
